Terms of Service
Last updated 2026-09-03. Plain language on purpose. If something here is unclear, ask before you rely on it.
1. Who this is between
These terms are between you (the store that subscribes) and the operator of this service ("we", "us"), the provider of Dummie's Utilities and the store-side apps that connect to it (results board, scratch-off grid, lottery back-office, Commander back-office, check-cashing counter station).
2. What you are buying
- A subscription, billed per screen and per module. Each TV screen (results board / grid) and each software module (lottery back-office, Commander back-office, check cashing) is a line on your subscription. You can add or remove lines at any time from your billing page; changes are pro-rated by Stripe.
- Seats. PC modules come with a default number of seats (PCs) per store. Additional seats are additional lines.
- Grace, then read-only. If a payment fails you keep full service for 5 days while your card is retried. After that, screens show a notice instead of numbers and the PC apps switch to read-only mode: you can still see and export everything, you just cannot make changes until billing is fixed. We do not lock you out of your own data.
- Cancellation. Cancel any time from the billing page; service continues to the end of the paid period. Refunds are described on the refund page.
3. Your data is yours
- Everything your store enters — packs, boxes, shifts, prices, configuration — belongs to you.
- You can export it at any time from the apps (database backup, CSV, and the grid file), and download the snapshots we keep for you from the website. If you cancel, download what you need before the paid period ends; we keep only the newest few snapshots (see the privacy page) and delete them on request.
- We use your data only to run the service for you. We do not sell it, share it with other stores, or use it for advertising.
- The privacy page lists exactly what the cloud stores and — more importantly — what it never receives.
4. The results board is informational
Winning numbers, jackpots and draw times shown on the results board are collected from public sources and shown for convenience. They can be late, incomplete, or wrong. Always verify a ticket at the lottery terminal before paying a prize. The board takes its numbers down automatically when they are more than 15 minutes old or the server cannot be reached; a board with no numbers is working as designed, not broken.
the operator of this service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Georgia Lottery Corporation or any other lottery. Game names appear as plain text only to describe results.
5. Check-cashing software is a recordkeeping aid
The check-cashing counter station helps you keep records of the IDs and checks you choose to accept. It is not a compliance program, a credit or fraud decision, or legal advice. Whether to cash a check, what fees you may charge, and what records or reports the law requires of you are your decisions and your responsibility under the laws that apply to your store. All check-cashing data stays on your PC; see the privacy page.
6. The Commander back-office and the bridge
When you use the Commander back-office module, price and configuration changes you make are sent to your own point-of-sale system on your own network. We never hold your POS credentials and never see your sales. Commander configuration backups (prices, PLUs, groups, promotions, fuel, taxes) are uploaded to the cloud only if you turn that on. Review changes before you send them: a wrong price you push is still a wrong price at the pump or the register.
7. Acceptable use
One subscription covers one store location. Don't share store keys or device tokens between stores, don't try to reach other stores' data, and don't use the service for anything unlawful. We may suspend a subscription that does.
8. Availability and support
We aim for the service to be up all the time and design the screens and PC apps to keep working through short outages (cached data, offline grace). We do not promise uninterrupted service. Support is by e-mail during normal business hours.
9. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is", and our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. We are not liable for lost profits, prizes paid on unverified tickets, bad checks, or losses caused by prices you sent to your POS.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will e-mail the contact address on the account before it takes effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the change.
